I am looking for guidance on how to license and configure a device account for a shared HoloLens 2.
The intent is to use a single account logged on to the Hololens 2 that is passed around to multiple end-users. Currently the account is only licensed for Remote Assist and Enterprise Mobility + Security E3. Remote assist works when adding the device to Teams meetings but it can't be invited to a meeting or access OneDrive. Since it is not licensed for those services this is expected but I can't find documentation on how this should be done.
Can I treat this account similar to a room resource and provide it a mailbox that way with auto processing?
What is the best way to provide OneDrive access? Full E3/E5 seems wasteful
Is there a way to treat this like a Surface Hub 2s where a user logs in their own account to temporarily access their own calendar and OneDrive?
Thank you.
Hi Scott,
Just to clarify your question, you want your users to be able to access One Drive inside Remote Assist?
If that is the case the users will need to have their own remote assist license. The one drive link that remote assist provides uses the same account as the remote assist license you are signed into. There is no way to change this as far as I know.
The work around would be to start a remote assist call, leave remote assist, while still being on the call and then open the One Drive App in the HoloLens. Then sign in with the account that you want to access in the one drive app. But this method obviously has some issues and likely isn't feasible.
