Mass Update of Views

Hi,

I have an entity that has 25 different views on it.  I want to add a new field - to all of the views.

Is there a way to do this as a mass update or is the only way to go through and update each view, one at a time?

    Don't think there is any mass update feature available from CRM UI. The only other way would be to modify the customizations.xml but you need to understand the xml structure and know what you are doing.

    You can do it using this cool tool...

    It's a part of xrmtoolbox

    xrmtoolbox.codeplex.com

    View Layout Replicator.

    The one thing you need to do is just add the field to one of your view and use this as template to be copied.

    *One thing to remember is it will copy the layout same exactly, means total column, width, sequence will be overwritten as per your template view.

    Other option is by modifying the customization.xml

    XrmToolbox has View Layout Replicator add-in that will do mass update on views.

    If using the tool - you will likely need to group like views together and do them in batches (unless they're all identical at present).  It really 'replicates'.  So Lookup, Associated and a few others may need to be different / done independently.
