Hi Friends,
I have gone through the below blog on Fixed asset group changing at:
The blog is neatly written but here i have one question, instead of making these manual entries why don't we use the "Reclassification" functionality under the periodic section.
If you guide us on this doubt will be appreciated.

    Hi Imran Ul Haq,

Have you already contacted the author of the post and adressed the question to him?

    Best regards,

    Hello Imran Ul Haq,

The main difference between the two methods that in case of using reclassification, the value model of the new fixed asset will not be changed directly (the value model will come with the new fixed asset group). But if you want to change only the value model (and you don't want to create a new fixed asset), the quoted solution is applicable.

    Hi Ludwig,

I already send the mail to the author but so far no reply, so i thought to check over the forum may be someone reply before the author.

    Hi Zsombor,

I am using only one value model, Actually my accountant acquire and depreciate the asset in the wrong fixed asset group, and now he want to transfer the fixed asset to the correct group along with the financial entries. So i believe "Reclassification" functionality is the easier and quicker way to reclassify as i just have to select the fixed assets and the reclassification date, system itself will post the financial vouchers of transfer. What do you suggest.

    Hi Imran,

I think in this case reclassification is the easiest way (If you don't mind that your fixed asset will have a new fixed asset number). All transactions will be transferred to the new FA.
