Does AX 2012 R2 CU9 Compatible with SQL Server 2014 SP2

Hi All, I'd like to ask a question regarding the compatibility of AX 2012 R2 CU9 for SQL Server 2014 with SP2. What does microsoft is suggest to upgrade SQL 2012 R2 to SQL 2014 SP2? I don't have the option to upgrade the AX CU at present. Also i have other application on my domain like (Management Reporter, VP_EDI (vantage point), SharePoint 2016, BI(cube, reports) which are integrated with Dynamics AX.

Does anyone have any information regarding upgrade SQL 2012 R2 to SQL 2014 SP2 on Dynamics AX 2012 R2 CU9 Server?

    yes it is supported. Taking following excerpt  from documentation

    SQL Server 2014 is supported by default with AX 2012 R3. To use SQL Server 2014 with AX 2012 R2, you must install cumulative update 7. To use SQL Server 2014 with AX 2012, you must install cumulative update 5.

    I would go to SQL 2016 sp1 or later its a far far better version.and probably no more work/cost

    SQL 2014 is already out of support form early July,  and there was a big patch only last month (outside of the SQL  2014 ended i.e you would need to pay for extended support )

    Thanks Everyone!

    One thing have to be noted please. If i upgrade SQL 2012 to SQL 2016 then what about other applications compatibility i.e (Management Reporter, SSRS, VP_EDI (vantage point), Biztalk 2016, SharePoint 2016, BI(cube, reports) which are already integrated with Dynamics AX 2012 R2 CU9.

    Yeah, i totally agree with you. If i upgrade 2012 to 2016 then will it supported to my other domain applications?

    You need to rest but I expect so,

    Sql 2016 also has a configuration for backwards compatibility  but Its probably not needed.
