Need code to simulate AX AOS service crash

Posted on by 675

Hi All,

Good Day!!

Can someone help me with code to crash the AOS through X++ code? Need it for crash analysis and debugging.

Thanks

Need code to simulate AX AOS service crash
I was able to just take the model DB offline in SSMS which crashed my AOS, but that corrupted my data and I had to restore the DB from a copy to get AX working right again. If you have an easy way to restore the DB you might want to try this, but this was the closest thing to a solution I found for this question.

That would just stop the service; it's something else than a crash.

    Interesting question.

What best you can do I think is to stop the AOS service using some command line tools.

If anybody finds a reproducible way how to crash AOS, he or she should immediately report it to Microsoft (rather then to you) to get it fixed ASAP.

    Hi Fedrik,

Initially I had same thought but I don't want to run specific scenario. Just a simple JOB or class to simulate the crash.

    Thanks

    Cool request.

How about trying to look through the active support cases on Lifecycle services? I bet you there are errors causing crashes that are still unresolved or has a work around.
