I Want to assign a resource with type Machine to the WBS projects Activity, What is the way to do that?

Hi Islam,

I have never heard of this specific requirement before. I don't think the WBS will accept resources with this type of machine as it is all labor-focused. Can you explain the process for this business requirement?

Sir thanks,

It's a construction business so they have about 1000 machines and assign those machines to the project activity because it has cost and also integrated with Asset management so their is some downtime for breakdown or for preventive maintenance.

Maybe you can assign it as a skill to resource? and resource belongs to specific team which has that skill?

Have you tested the following;

Create Resource roles for each of the various types of machines -

Create the individual Resources by using the Individual Machine ID's- (In other words these workers just happen to be Machines)

Then when you are scheduling in the WBS you can assign the Resource just as you would for a worker.

If this works, it may also give you reporting on Utilization especially if you set up the correct working calendar's for them.

Obviously this option is dependent on what other modules you are using such as Payroll and Human resources, but if you have a very basic OOTB config it may be worth testing.
