Updating Leads/Opportunities via Imports when Status is Closed

Hi everyone,

Is it possible to update Leads or Opportunities that have been closed/won/disqualified in CRM via imports?

I recently had to recreate a field and while transferring all the existing data from the old field to the new one (so users had a smooth transition) I exported All Leads, populated the new data to the new field and when imported back into the system I get many errors related to "original record no longer exists".

Any advice about this? Thanks!!

    Hi,

Can you also make sure, you are re-importing the leads in the same environment?

If you exported the file from Production, updated the new field, and trying to import it in Staging, it won't work.

Because one of the hidden columns (in excel file) has GUID of the Lead records and this GUID is different in each environment.

If you need to test it, you should export this data from Staging and re-import in staging.

If it works fine, you have to do the same exercise by exporting data from Production.

    Best,

    Wahaj

    Hi barbieruelas,

I can also successfully import the closed leads/opportunities following the link provided by Wahaj.

Note that the data of columns A to C in the exported excel file cannot be modified. They represent the identification of records.

Columns A to C are hidden by default.

Can you please make sure, you are using the same steps?
