AX 2012 : Maximum number of lines while creating an invoice

Hi Guys,

Can anybody confirm what is the maximum number of lines that can be entered while creating an Invoice in AX 2012?

AFAIK, there shouldn't be an upper limit, and if there is, AX will throw an error/warning, stating the same.

One of my colleagues entered about 80 lines previous day but today morning when she re opened it, it was gone. Only two lines were there.

Please share your experiences / solutions, if anybody has faced any similar issues.

Thanks!

That's surely not related to any limit. Eighty lines is just a few.

    Hi Nidhi,

There is no limit. I assume you are talking about sales invoices as you used the tag 'Sales and Marketing'.

When creating the sales invoice, you can select lines from multiple orders. This update form is based on temporary tables. You have to finish the task to do the invoicing part. If you have e.g. 100 orders of the same customer with each 10 lines, you can select them on the Sales invoice update form. When you close the form without really updating the invoice, the information is deleted. Next time you have to reselect the lines. If you then open the Sales invoice creation from one single order, you can indeed have only the lines belonging to one order. So don't close the form unless you want to post or cancel the process.

    Thank you so much Andre.

I think it might have been an issue where the form was closed before anything was posted.
