Ability to select a status reason when qualifying a lead

With the release of wave 2, we can now select which entities (accounts, contact, opportunity) are creating when qualifying a lead. Our users would like to be able to qualify leads and select a reason for qualification?  For example, when a user qualify a lead without an opportunity, they would like to be able pick a reason value (Qualify No Opportunity).  This will allow them to easily search for all the leads that were qualified without an opportunity versus the number of leads that were qualified with an opportunity.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi partner,

Since this is a new feature, there is no such way to change the status reason value when qualify a lead.

But you could use the following steps to archieve your requirement in another way.

First of all, we should konw that there is a field "Qualifing Opportunity" in lead entity(did not put on the form in default)  that represents which opportunity did this lead was qualified to and we should put this field on the lead form.

Then according to this realtionship, we could create 2 views in lead to show the leads with/without opportunity.

    1.Lead with Opportunity.

    2.Lead without Opportunity.

Thank you.  This is super helpful.  I also see a field (Qualification Comments). do you know if we can use a workflow to automatically populate this field when user clicks on the Qualify button?

    Hi partner,

    Thanks for your recognition :-)

    Yes, it is possible.

1.First we should put this field on lead form, and then we create a background workflow and set the trigger condition as "Record fields change" and "Record status changes".

2.Beside "Record fields change",click on "select" button and choose "Status" and "status reason" field.

3.Set a check condition as "if status reason equals 'Qualifed'".

4.Add an update action to set the default value of "Qualification Comments".

    Save and activate.

Ok, let's do a test. After I qualified a lead to Opportunity, the lead record was updated by our workflow and set the "qualification comments" value successfully.

    Hope it helps.
