Hello Dynamics Community,
Production orders generate "Planned production orders" for lower level BOM requirements automatically - and this is fine.
However, we are spending great amounts of resources for "Firming" or "Approving" those "Planned production orders" that have sufficient inventory.
Can we automate this process? such that production order requirements for level BOM requirements automatically start the production of those relevant production orders to feed the higher level BOM items.
Alternatively we are interested in finding out how to quickly view, which "Planned production orders" we can start, that will not run into the problem of empty inventory to feed those planned production orders.
Thanks in advance!
Best regards Peter Vesterager
Hi Peter,
I don't think there is anyway to automatically firm only those orders where the components are in stock.
But you could firm all lower level orders by assigning a coverage group with autofirming time fence set to the items.

Dolores
Hi Dolores,
Thanks for your reply.
You say that it is possible to automatically "firm" the planned production orders if the components required are in stock - how to do this?
Best regards
Peter Juul Vesterager
Hello Peter,
You could assign a coverage group to the lower level BOM items with automatic firming set to a number of days. Then the planned production orders should be automatically firmed. I don't know anyway to automate firming only if the components required are in stock.
Kind regards
Dolores
