Project Operations -> What impact does it have on PMA? Question existing but not really answered

Good morning

I could see on the forum the question:

Will Dynamics 365 Project Service Automation and project management and accounting (PMA) capabilities be supported? Will there be additional feature development?

The answer is only pointing to PSA wher there will be no further development but what happens with PMA.

Therefore I have following questions:

  1. What kind of impact will this have on PMA?
  2. Will Project Operations replace PMA in some time?
  3. Will PMA be maintained and enhanced in the future or will it be similar to PSA where the further development will be stopt?

I hope that I could get some answers here :)

Thank you and best regards

Diego

What do you mean by PMA? The module in Dynamics 365 Finance? Or does this question belong to the Project Operations forum?

Sorry for the misunderstanding. Yes, I mean Project Management and Accounting in the Dynamics 365 Finance module.

    Hello Diego,

In the last couple of weeks there have been a number of presentations on this topic.

You will find the answers to your questions there.

    See e.g.

    - From the Scottish summit:

    - From Bootcamp

    Best regards,

    Hello Ludwig

Thank you to point me to those presentations and the fast feedback.

So basically, if I did understand it correctly, the clasic Project management and accounting will be replaced with Project operations latest in 2024. After that Project Management and accounting will not be available anymore. Correct?

This would also mean, that if I have curstomer requirements where we did a big customization for Project management and accounting, we will need to redo this in Project operations?

    Best regards

    Diego

No. That is not my understanding especially for stocked item related scenarios, the 'old' F&O project module will stay.

If you want to go with project operations, then you probably have to but my understanding is that you can still use the 'old' F&O project module without the integration.

Ludwig Reinhard  do you by any chance have confirmation that Project Management and Accounting (stocked) will remain in D365FO after 2024?
