Hi

I have an on premise NAV2016 and i'm currently using windows auth. I would like to have some users log on with NAV-login or maybe Office 365 login. I can't find any documentation on this. Is it not possible?

Create new NAV instance with NavUserPassword credentials type all other settings as in the Windows instance:

Also you need to setup your NAV users - in their cards input User password.

Probably you'll also need to set ClientServiceCredential type value of config file to NavUserPassword.

Regarding Setup of SSO with Office 365, it's a bit different.

    Start from here:

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../dn789650(v=nav.90).aspx

You can do that as follows

    1) Copy C:\Users\amol.s\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\110\ClientUserSettings.Config  file in some folder and change name and  authentication type

    2) Create NAV shortcut

    3) Right Click and go to properties

    4) In target field go to last and add -settings:"C:\UserClient.config"

    Hope this helps

Andrey, it looks like that is what I need.

I have tried to configure it, but I am not able to start the service as I have not supplied at certificate thumbprint. Can I avoid having to implement certificates when all connection are local or via VPN?

As I remember, yes - It should works locally without certificate thumbprint.
