Set a static Job Identification to the operations of a production

Greetings.

We are a preety big metal workshop, but just a workshop at the end. and our operations for manufacturing products are always the same, there are only 7 operations we perform but every time we create a new production this operations get a diferent job identification, we would like give always the same Job Identification to simplify several other internal process.

for example production order #1 gives a job identification to the Laser Cutting operation of 500

and production #2 gives a JI of 501 to the same operation

What we want is to get always the 500 to be static for that laser cutting operation.

    Hi Jairo,

    If it is the case, I would suggest you design your process and have some extension to archive this. Following concern may needed to be considered:

    1. How to identify the production order being processed?

    2. A new field may be needed for the operation to record the static operation ID/name.

    3. Enhance the MES terminal and use the static operation ID/name to handle related operations.

    Hello Austin. thanks for the response.

    I wished to be static becuse our workers clock in by feeding the operation in wich they will work for the day, those operations are always the same for our production process, but they have to learn a new number every time a new production is released in orther to clock in properly.

    Hi JairoJs,

    In Dynamics AX, production job ID is generated from number sequence and would be always dynamically get. Also Job ID is primary key for the job entity and it would not be allowed duplication.

    May I know why you want to use same Job ID? Normally saying, with current Job ID, we could identify the production order and etc. If we use duplicate Job ID, it may be hard for us to handle Job ID based operations.
