Benchmarking email open and click-through rates

Posted on by 34

Hi All,

We are trying to create a dashboard chart to view the average email open-rate and the average email click-through rate within our instance.

We currently compare our campaigns to industry averages and now we would like to compare them against the average for our company and the type of campaign e.g. Newsletters, notifications, event invitations etc.

We can define the type of campaign by using the Customer journey 'Purpose' field.

Has anyone else tackled a chart/report like this and could share some ideas?

Thanks!

So, if we talk about the open rate it is the percentage that provides us with how many campaigns were successfully opened by subscribers. Click rate is the percentage that also provides us with information on how many campaigns registered at a single click.

Ways to improve open and click rate:-

    Understand open rate and CTRs

    Look after email formatting

Always focus on the subject line

Improve the content of the email

    Divide your audience

So there aren't any options within the standard dashboaords of the marketing app?

    Hi BeeKay,

Data of email click-through rate or email open-rate are called Insights data, in other word, insights data refers to all data in Insights tab.

To access those data and create a chart or dashboard based on them, we need to set up Azure Blob storage and connect it to Marketing, then using URL of the Azure Blob storage to get insights data in Power BI.

Please take the following article as reference for more details:

Once configuration has been done, you could import the template "Leaderboard report for customer journeys and email marketing" into Power BI to do analytics.
