unable to find the report design

ReportReport
Posted on by 750
Hello everyone,

I've recently created a copy of the /CustAccountStatementExt/ report to modify its layout for a new report, which I named /XX_CustAccountStatementExt/. After creating the new report, I deployed it multiple times from Visual Studio. However, upon running the report, I encountered an exception stating /unable to find the report design./
Any insights or ideas on how to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
H

    Hi Hisham,

1- Try to do full build for your model and sync the database
     2- Reset Usage data
     3- Restart SSRS reporting service.
     4- Restart IIS
5- Try to deploy all reports using the following command:

    C:\AosService\PackagesLocalDirectory\Plugins\AxReportVmRoleStartupTask\DeployAllReportsToSSRS.ps1 -Module YourModelName -ReportName * -PackageInstallLocation “C:\AosService\PackagesLocalDirectory”

    Thanks

    Hi @Hisham,

    try to :
    1. rename the report name,
    2. restart AOS
    3. restart reporting service
    4. verify that report is exist in your model
then redeploy the report and keep us informed

    Best regards,

    Hi all,

Yes, I used Controller class, and I try to deploy the report from this command line

    K:\AosService\PackagesLocalDirectory\Plugins\AxReportVmRoleStartupTask\DeployAllReportsToSSRS.ps1 -Module ApplicationSuite -ReportName 'VEL_CustAccountStatementExt' -PackageInstallLocation "K:\AosService\PackagesLocalDirectory"

Then I received this error, and I do not know what is the reason, BTW, I deploy  the same report from VS without any issue

    Hi @Hisham,

it seems the report is not deployed.
You can look for Reporting services configuration manager in your Dev VM and you should get web service url from there and verify if you can see your report.
Another way to deploy your report from PowerShell (As Admin) command :
    K:\AosService\PackagesLocalDirectory\Plugins\AxReportVmRoleStartupTask\DeployAllReportsToSSRS.ps1 -ReportName YourReportName.DesginTitle
    Best regards,

    Hi,

How you connect the new report Design to the already exist report? Did you use Controller class?

    Thanks,
    Waed Ayyad
