Significant performance degradation in Production and UAT environments

Hello, over the past few months, our clients have been experiencing significant performance degradation in their Production and UAT environments without any clear root cause. This is especially noticeable during long-running operations such as Inventory Closing.
Interestingly, when executing the same queries with similar data volumes on Cloud-hosted developer environments, the performance is significantly better — in some cases, up to 5 times faster.
This raises concerns that Microsoft may have introduced stricter resource throttling or limits on the compute power allocated to individual customers over time.
We’d appreciate it if you could share your experience — have you encountered similar issues?
Also, is there any official Microsoft documentation explaining how resources are allocated and managed for Production and UAT environments in Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations?
I will appreciate your response.
Sofiya.

    Hi Sofiya,
There's no official doc that spells out resource caps per environment, but general references can be found here:

    Id suggest
    • Log a Microsoft support ticket to get visibility into your tenant’s performance tier and any recent backend infra changes.

    • Review telemetry from LCS Environment Monitoring during the affected periods.

    • Consider scheduling heavy processes (like Inventory Close) during low-usage windows.

    Hi Sofiya,

There are a lot of variables that can influence the performance. Are there customizations in this environment? Are the processes running in batch or on client? Are particular cleanup jobs for the inventory module in place? Are there other processes running at the same time? Have you examined the environment monitoring for possible lack on resources?
