How to clean-up historical data for Omnichannel Historical Analytics dashboard

Hi,

We are some weeks away from releasing our environment to production and make it available to agents.

I want to know if there's a way to delete or essentially clean up the environment for a release, this means that the Omnichannel Historical Analytics dashboard should be practically empty. How could I do this type of cleanup?

Below is a screenshot of how the dashboard currently looks.

Thanks for any help.

    Thanks Vicente,

And yes we do have other environments, we'll look into that approach 🦾.

I'd suggest more or less the same as RudyZhang: create a new environment, deploy your changes, configuration data etc across to the new environment and then release that as Production. That way, you'll have a clean slate to work from and no old data clogging up your historical dashboard views.

Just to check, is this your only environment, or is this specifically Production that you've taken screenshots of? Because if it is your only environment, I would highly recommend creating at least a DEV and a UAT environment so that you can deploy changes in a controlled manner.

Hopefully I'm just misreading or misinterpreting your original message. Either way, best of luck with the deployment! :-)

How to clean-up historical data for Omnichannel Historical Analytics dashboard
    Hi Rudy Zhang,

Thanks for your insights, I have a follow up question.

Since the historical is for example composed of conversations. Is it possible to delete records from lets say the Conversations table and this will cause the Historical Dashboard to update and lose data?

If I were to delete every conversation, then the historical dashboard would have no conversation data, unless the table where the conversations are stored is also non-modifiable.

    thanks for any help.

    Hi,

Our team analyzed your issue and according to our tests Omnichannel Historical Analytics dashboard data is stored in Dataverse, but the Table where this data is stored cannot be modified, so you can't delete this data directly.

Here are the possible alternatives suggested by our team.
You can try to create a "Solution" and add what you need to go live into the solution and then import the solution into the "Production Environment".

Also, please remember to back up your environment before doing anything to your production environment as this may cause unnecessary damage.

I hope my answer is helpful to you! If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me.

    Best Regards,
    Rudy Zhang
