Making a required field in an opportunity form

Hello,

I am trying to make a field in an opportunity form to be "required".

Our Microsoftpartner who has made a company specific solution for us previously, has said that any changes we should do, we should do within a solution called "own_changes".

So I go to that solution "own_changes" and go to "opportunities" and "field", double click the field I want "required" and set "field requirements" to "required by the company."

However when filling out oppurtunity fields, this field still doesn't get "required" so you can save without entering anything in it.

I examined the setting of another field that was "required" and where users are unable to save without entering information. There  he field requirement was "required by the system." but this option was not available for the field I wanted required. At that field there was only "optional", "recommended by the company" and "demanded by the company".

Any input appreciated, thanks.

Did you publish the customizations after you made the change? Only published customizations will show up for the actual users.

Actually I forgot to publish it after doing the change. That fixed it. Thanks.
