I'm getting this error when a user tried to download data from dynamics to excel:
"failed to retrieve the enhanced server config"
I tried removing the add-in and putting it back.
has anyone run into this?

You will receive an error message, this is because you have not entered your environment “Server URL”. You can click the “Insert” tab in the Excel ribbon, click “My Add-ins”.Next find the “Microsoft Dynamics” add-in and click “Add”.Now you should see the connector pane. Click the gear icon. In the “Server URL” enter the URL for your environment and click “Ok”.And press the “Refresh” button in the data connector again.
I tried that...still getting the error
I tried adding this privilege to the user: SystemExportToExcelLimited
It seems this works.
Correction, this is what I needed:
OFFICEAPPENHANCEDCONFIGURATIONSERVICE.GETENHANCEDSERVERCONFIGURATION
