AX 2012 R3 Client problem only on Windows 7

Hello,

I have a problem with my AX client on Windows 7. If I install client on windows 8 or windows server 2012 it is working fine. But when I am using Windows 7 the client opens and there are a lot crashes (When trying to do full CIL, trying to refresh elements from cashes, when compile just one object (table or class)). Also when I am trying to open all purchase orders there is .Net framework error. All those features works nice on other clients with same user and to the same AOS.

Errors from Event Viewer:

After debuging I know where the error comes from, but I still don't know how to solve it.

In the code there is a line that check this: System.Windows.SystemParameters::get_HighContrast()

and here the exception is thrown.

    Hi,

Does the Win7 machine has .Net Framework 4.5 installed? This is required for AX 2012 R3 clients.

    Hi,

please try to delete AUC files form AppData folder also verify the kernal version of the Ax client.

also check if any older .net version there then plz uninstall and check it.

    Thanks

    Hi thcrnk,

beside reinstalling the .net framework, clearing the auc's, have you tried to change your grafic card driver?

I remember some strange issues with nvidia (or ati) - one of them - drivers with .net (not only belonging to ax32.exe)

Can you try to update your driver (or use another one for test purpose) ?

    regards

    Douglas

    AUC files delete didn't help.

    The kernal version is: 6.3.1000.309

    Application version is: 6.3.1000.473

I've uninstalled all .net framework version with .net cleaning tool then the client didn't want to start with error for missing .net framework. Then I installed .net framework version 4.5.1 and the client started, but all crashes and errors were the same.

    Hi,

only one hint: Did you try a newer Ax Kernel (you can uninstall it afterwards) on this client only - YES only on the client machine - not the aos - for test purpose?

If this will work, you should upgrade all kernels (clients + aos) to this version.

Have you already checked the grafic driver? Or tried to use another screen resolution etc.?

    regards

    Douglas

Do you have the same error message on ALL your Windows 7 machines or only one machine ?

Yes, I have the same error messages on each windows 7 machine. Also I installed a clean new machine with windows 7 and there are the same errors.

    Anything else I can try?
