Tile Query stopped working with a Query error

Hi,

I wondered if anybody had encountered this issue.

  • I created a Tile in a User Workspace in D365 F&O.
  • The Tile call a standard OOTB form and simply filters by status and date
  • The Tile worked absolutely fine
    • THEN
  • It stopped working
  • The only changes that I am aware of are Microsoft Updates BUT I find it difficult to believe that an MS update would cause this.
  • When I click on Tile to call filtered form I get the message below - it is as if a tablename has changed and my query will not work any longer

The required QueryBuildDataSource was not found in the Query associated with the FormDataSource '%1'. The QueryBuildDataSource should have the same

name and table ID as the FormDataSource.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

could you please share more details about the name of the form and how you created the tile?

it could also be as a result of your personalizations being blown away after the Microsoft update.

Just investigate the query though and you should be able to figure out what's happening.

Error is clearly showing that, you need to add the same datasource in the QuerybuildDatasource related queries as same in FormDatasource.

Try finding the menu item used to access this workspace.  Look at the menu item's properties.  In the "Query" property of the menu item, if there is a query name that is different than the form's query you modified, then find that query in the AOT and modify it as well, the same way you modified the other query.

There are various things that get cached with tiles and queries... So if you change the query specified on a tile everything breaks. I haven't investigated it enough.

Nevertheless, the fix will include deleting and recreating some elements. I'd start with just deleting the tile from the workspace. Build and add it again. If that doesn't work delete & recreate the query and tile. Or maybe just rename.

I can't remember if cache clearing helps - you can try that as well. Then I also remember there is some form (and table) where one can manage various stuff about existing tiles in the application. You will find your tile there.

And then I assume everything compiles - if it does not compile I am sure you'll easily fix the issue :)
