Change the period code for estimates for a Fixed Price project

(0) ShareShare

We have fixed price projects and we used to estimate these projects weekly (period code in Estimate project is Week). Now I would like to change the period to daily, only when I make a new estimate journal (there were several week-estimates before, on this project) then I can't change it to daily. Even when I change the period code in Estimate-project it doesn't change the periode code in a new estimate.

I'm wondering if it is possible to change the periode code for estimates during a project when you already booked estimates?

    Hello Lou,

You can actually change the period code for estimates.

Yet, this works only if you first reverse all your previous estimates, then change the period code in the estimate project and then run the estimate again.

AX won't allow you switching back and forth between period codes without having the previous estimates deleted.

    Hope it helps,

    Ludwig

    Hello Ludwig,

Thank you for your answer. That was the solution that I also have in mind.

But I was testing something and I found another way, so you don't have to reverse the previous estimates. My solution is that I run the estimates from the start page (over all the projects at the same time). Here I can select the other period (day). When I change the period in estimate-project and run the batch for all the estimates, then AX will estimate in the new periodcode (day). Then you can go to a single project and make a new estimate en this estimate will be in the new settings (day). Even when the old estimates in this project have been run as 'week'.
