How to make From address to read-only field on the Marketing email

Posted on by 459

Hi,

I only have to allow the "From address" value to be selected from the Dynamic Content on the Marketing Email (refer to image 2). I have to prevent the user from entering an email to the "From address " field. how I can do that. I tried to make the "From address " field be a read-only field on the "Edit property" main form (refer to the image 1).  However, after the change, I could not save the change. it was throwing an error (refer to image 3).

Please advise me on how i can prevent the user from entering a value and allow only from either Dynamic content (refer to image 2) or Brand Profiler.

    Hi SivaR,

Maybe you can try using the new interface to retry the operation, if it still doesn't work, I suggest you create a new case, and getting more people involved in the discussion might solve your problem.

Hi Rollback is not possible because the back up only available for 7 days. the working Email Properties form was available 10 days before.

i made sure to click the check box (refer to image 1) (i also tried with both check boxes clicked) while I exported the solution from production. Then I imported it into dev, i only see one file (refer to image 2). There is no error displayed either. Any suggestion on how I can successfully import the "Email Properties" form to fix the form in Development?

Firstly, roll back is feasible. But I think the problem in image 3 is that you didn't check the checkbox in the image below:

Or you can skip this and add "Email Properties" form alone:

And then you can export and import solution to another environment.

Finally, there are some problems with yesterday's method.

You can directly check Read only in "Email Properties", but dynamic fields also become unchangeable at the same time.

If you only want to prevent manual input, I suggest you try JS coding.

Thank you for the response. i accidentally deleted "From address" from the "Email Properties" form. now it shows an error on all other fields (refer to image 1).

Therefore, I created a managed solution from the production including the form (refer to image 2), and imported it into the Dev environment to fix this form. However, each time imported into the Dev environment, the "Email Properties" form is not copied to the dev environment (refer to image 3).

How  can I fix this issue:

    1. Can I restore a back from August 29th (refer to image 4)? does this help to roll back the form to the previous stage?

    2. if first option won't work, how i can import the solution to replace the file?

    Hi SivaR,

Firstly, “Email Properties” seem immutable, even if it’s just a label name. If you want to change the property about new an email, please click the ”New editing experience” in image 1.

I recommend using business rule to prevent user from changing address, please refer to the screenshot below:
