Managment reporter Configuration

Posted on by 1,325

I'm trying to reconfigure MR2012 2.12.16003.25 after some server issues.

The Process server was hung and when I tried to stop the Application Service  and the Application Service and they hung withe a status of 'Stopping'

Both Configuration Console and Services.msc shoed the services as stopping and stayed there for 20min. so I rebooted the server and remove the services.

Now I'm trying to re-configure the services and getting the followoing in the Deployment log:

What 'name already exists' is it refering to. In typical Microsoft fashion the error message barely give you a clue as to what the root of the issue is. Why can't they loge the 'Name' that exists? at least that would be a clue.

So my question is What is 'name already exists' irefering to, how do you work arround.

Right after MR checks if the user has the sysadmin role, the next step is to start the deployment of the application service.  But it failing before it gets to that step.  It looks like the services may still exist.  You can run the following two commands in a Command Prompt:

    sc delete MR2012ApplicationService

    sc delete MR2012ProcessService

You can then try installing the application and process service again.
