Adding Free Text Line to AX2012 Quote

Hi,

I would lik to add free text lines to a quote - I assuemed this would be easy but I cannot see how to do this and after searching around cannot find anyone else who has asked the question,

The free text lines need to be unassociated with a particular line item, something like:

Marketing Fee for Agent $2500

Hi Michael,

I don't get your point on the "type" column and standard icon. Is this related to the Sales Line?

I was talking about a Product item type and a sales category.

You can ask your implementor as well. Good luck!

We are using AX2012 R2.

I added new types but although we have the "type" ccolumn we cannot select anything other than the standard icon that is in the column,

Thank you for your help, I will ask our implementor for some advice as they are visiting next week

Hi Michael,

You are not mentioning with version of AX you are working.

In any version you can add a 'dummy' item of type service and then specify e.g. the marketing fee. Perhaps you need to specify multiple ledger accounts for several types. Then you can create multiple service items or have the ledger account specified per line.

In AX2012 you can use a sales category to specify the fee without using the products.
