Out of the box , DIXF functionality which allows to copy the data between legal entities.

or You can use configuration manager tool also .

    Hi Hisham,

You can use the Data Import Export Framework for this purpose. Depending on your needs you probably also needs to create new entities to support your complete configuration.

I missed the fact that Lally already replied with the same. You can perform the actions from within AX itself.

I only have looked at the configuration manager in combination with AX7 so far. I'm not aware if this is also supported for AX2012.

It supports AX 2012 Versions also . Configuration manager supports both cloud and on-premise ,when it comes to copy the data it uses DIXF frame work from back end , so DIXF configuration is mandatory in rich client before uses the configuration manager tool in LCS.

Thanks Lally. I read about RapidStart services were depreciated now, so I was wondering if Configuration Manager was also suitable for AX2012.

In that case configuration manager would have a pro to store the configuration as you have defined now. When you only use DIXF within the same environment, there is a risk that the configuration in the base company gets changed. The packages on LCS will remain untouched unless you upload new files.

    Hi Hisham,

Did you use the option copy entity data between environments? Or are you trying to use a processing group and assign one or more legal entities? Can you describe the exact steps you performed?

    Hi there,

Using DIEF will work for many properties, but there are some tables that rely on foreign key (recId) that will create some issue. These might be stuff like inventory posting setup and print management. Will work for most Parm. and master data tables.

Also make sure that you create your entities with the knowledge that you are creating code while doing so. This might create complications if you do the creation in the Live environment (depending on your code management policies).

You might end up with mismatch in your application IDs or end up loosing the entities when doing code updates to Live.
