Session based event registration, Why can't I get it to work?

Posted on by 35
I am trying to do something that I think should be fairly simple. I would
like to create an event with two sessions, and embed the registration
from on my website.

I have created the event two different ways and neither seems to work right.

First,

I have created an event and a registration form in Outbound Marketing.
I've created the sessions, and toggled the switch for allow users to
create their own agenda. I can not figure out, though, how to put the
session choice onto the marketing form.

Second,

I have created an event in Real-Time marketing. All the feature switches
relevant to what I need have been turned on. When I access the /default
registration form with sessions/ everything seems to work fine, except
for two things. Using the business phone field requires the user to
input a country code to be able to submit. I want this form to be easy
to fill out, and I feel like that will turn off a lot of users. Second, I
cannot add a company field, so that the user can put down what company
they are representing. The option just isn't there. (I do understand
that real time uses the entity instead of form fields, but I still need
the user to be able to tell me what company they are from.)

At this point, I don't care whether I use outbound or real time, I just
need this to function. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Hi,

In Real-Time Marketing, you can set the Validation property of the Business Phone field to No Validation.
This way, the user does not need to fill in the country code when inputting the Business Phone field.

Alternatively, you can add the Managing Partner field in the Contact entity, which points to the Account entity.

To use lookup fields in forms, you need to set the following security roles.

Since the field associated with the account in the Contact form is the Company Name field.

You can create a business rule that assigns the value of the Managing Partner field to the Company Name field so that the contact is associated with the company.
