Move item from USER location to PICK location

Hi

How do we move an item that was stuck in a USER location to a PICK location.

I have a work order that was cancelled in the middle of picking process.  The item was left on LOADS and we cannot complete this anymore because the work was cancelled.

    Hi Richard,
We had similar situations time to time for production order picking, when stock been left on the user due to various conflicts and it can be resolved. Ask your tech guy and do a test first in your test environment.
Go to WHSWorkTable, search for your work ID, change workstatus from cancelled to open. Check if its not been locked by user. You might try to complete work from here, if not continue with below...
Go to WHSWorkLine table, search for your work ID, change lines workstatus field to open and remove/clear userId field.
Go back to your picking work and cancel it.
Now stock is no longer reserved, therefore it should allow you to transfer it to different location.
Re-release new picking work if necessary.
    Regards,
    V

Since the work was cancelled I suggest getting a developer to also either reverse the first pick line or complete the 2nd put line. Cancelling a work that is in progress should not be possible.

This is why I have to ask a developer to it. They would be able to write a job to delete the record and override the validation that is throwing the error.

    Hi Guy

I cannot delete the work line/work inventory transaction in AOT. I got below error:

WHSWorkTable, WHSWorkLine and WHSWorkInventTrans are the relevant tables, but now I'm nervous, because your Techy should be able to find that out!

    Thanks Guy.

We have replicated the issue in our test environment. In the back end where do we find the Work Line/Work Inventory Transaction?

RE: Move item from USER location to PICK location

When I get work that is stuck like that in a Test environment, I give up on the example and start a fresh one. There are limited options for handling work like this ('Cancel' the work, Reverse the work, Reduce the picked quantity, delete the Shipment) and I don't think any of them will help you. If it happens in a Live environment, I would give it to a Techy to resolve via the back end. Which means deleting the Work Line/Work Inventory Transaction.

As always, try it in a Test environment first.

    Hi Sukrut

We tried that before. We get the following error.
