SL 2011 and Server 2012R2

I've a client who has an installation of SL 2011 that is used solely for history inquiries. Their IT vendor would like to upgrade their OS on the server from its current 2008R2 to 2012R2. I know it's not included in the System Requirements documentation for SL 2011, but I was wondering if anyone had clients running SL 2011 on Server 2012R2 (or later.)

Thanks!

Yes, I have one site that has not yet upgraded beyond SL 2011 SP2 and is running Windows Server 2012 R2 with no issues whatsoever.

Gotta love clients. Either I misunderstood their plan, or they didn't give me the whole scoop.

This was an intermediate step that their IT provider wanted to take. Ultimately, they want the server OS to be Win 2016. Has anyone carried SL 2011 to this OS?

    Thanks
