Date/Time and Time Zones

My organization uses data inside of CRM for eligibility files. We use basic unique identifier data to check eligibility for Services. We have imported a huge number of potential attendees as Leads within the system. Upon import all leads were imported with a Date of Birth. The DOBs were entered with the correct date but a time of midnight. What this means is that when users of our CRM system log in from Central Standard Time they see the DOBs as a day earlier. I have checked the attribute on the Lead form and it is formatted for Date Only but this problem persists.

I see a potential solution in a Bulk Edit but am wondering if anyone else has an idea?

 Thanks

Date Only fields in CRM are automatically set to 12:00 AM behind the scenes (Date and Time are also set to 12:00 AM, but you can see this value on the form), and they will display in the user's local time. For example, if the Date field contains "1/1/2010 1:00AM" when uploaded in EST, a user accessing the same record in LA will see "12/31/2009 10:00PM" displayed because the base value is stored in UTC and displayed in the local user's time zone.

Option 1: Re-import all Leads with Date of Birth set in noon date & time format "XX/XX/XXXX 12:00:00" (e.g. 1/1/2010 12:00:00) to minimize the chances of time zone differences offsetting the original date.

Option 2: Run a SQL script (in CRM on-premise only with SQL database access) to modify all affected Lead records with Option 1's date & time format (e.g. 1/1/2010 12:00:00)

Option 3: For all records with same Date of Birth, run Bulk Edit tool to update Date of Birth field with "XX/XX/XXXX 12:00:00" format. This will make all Date of Birth values the same for all records that you select when you run Bulk Edit. Only do this if the Date of Birth values should actually be the same.

I tend to add 6 hrs onto all dates that don't have a time element to minimize this issue. Export to excel and mark for re import is going to be your best option. Then you'll need to add some JavaScript to adjust the time when entered on the form.

    Hope this helps

Can you use a simply Java Script on the field to correct the date/time issue?
