FinDim autopopulated with "location" without SITE

Hi,

Can one get a Financial dimension "Physical location" auto-populated on transactions (related to SO/PO/Inv/PROD)

without adding a dimension link from Site?!

There is no possibility to add a default value on customer, vendor or released product.

Financial dimensions are different from Inventory Dimensions.
You can get Financial Dimension auto-populated in many ways. for example you can default those on Vendors/Customers/Items so as soon an order is created these are copied from vendor/customer master setup.

Financial Dimensions are not linked with Inventory Dimensions like Site, Or Warehouse.

Hi Sohaib,

I do know this - that's why I'm asking if there could be another solution in some way.

Of course You can default a FinDim on a Main account but, that will not work for all scenarios...

We're trying to avoid the inventory linking until the structure is fully set next year sometimes so, I'm looking for a temporary (or longterm) solution.

Hi,
Typically, the most straightforward way to default a Physical location dimension would be through a dimension link (e.g., tied to Site or Warehouse). Since you don’t want to use that approach, one alternative you could consider is Financial Tags.

You can create fixed Financial Tag values (e.g., Physical location = London, Manchester, etc.) and then define Financial Tag rules based on another field, such as Site or Warehouse, that serves as the identifier. Once the rule is configured, the Physical location tag can automatically default on your transactions without requiring a dimension link.

This could be a clean way to meet your requirement using standard functionality.
