Data Management Import - Multiple Legal Entities

HI All

Just getting started with data management and not clear on how to work with legal entities. We have a Top Level where we create product masters. We then use A modified version of Engineering Change management to release into legal entities. During rollout (we have 13 LE's) we might find some of the master date that needs updating 9a lot of records). Ordinarily the user would update at op level and release to LE's; however, while we're still in implementation phase, we just want to use data management to update the same item in all entities.

Would I need to run the same data management import in each LE, or is there a way to import into ALL LE's?

Thanks

Mark

    Hi,

Short answer: each legal entity. But, why not update the top level each time and automate the releasing to the legal entities? Don't ask me how to automate it :-).

    Hi markmj,

You can use data management to export, import, and copying to legal entity function by entities.

I think can create a setup on one company and then copy them to the legal entities via copying to legal entity function. In this regard, you can create a template for entities that can be used in this process.

Nb. You need to copy the entities fra source to target company that are company specific.

Please check following posts on Microsoft docs for more info:

Thanks Anton. Ultimately we want to automate it, but we have more urgent dev to do.

copy LE's is a function to copy entities from one source to target companies. As it is already mentioned you can create a template of entities that can be copied to one or group of LEs.

    Hi Mark,

I know it's been a while since you posted but I wanted to drive awareness to a solution a Microsoft Partner by the name of Avantiico has built. Avantiico's Multi Company Solution allows you to import data across many different legal entities at once.

The most straightforward but labor-intensive way to handle sales data enrichment is to run the same data management import individually for each legal entity (LE). You can set up the import file once and then run it across all the LEs. This approach ensures control over each legal entity's data but can be time-consuming.
