SSRS Report Timeout

ReportReport

Hi,

I have an issue when printing the Ledger Transaction List report with one year data filter, it's causing the timeout error.

I also have checked on SQL Server Reporting Services, the current default report timeout is 1800.

I want to know if im going to increase the report timeout value, any necessary steps that i need to perform and aware?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Afieq

    Hello Afieq,

As per the comments , I understand that this is AX 2012 report. can you try to check the points mentioned on this doc to increase the timeout

    RE: SSRS Report Timeout

    Hi Arshad,

I'm getting the error from Dynamics Ax.

What do you mean tried running the same report on reporting server?

Can u show me the steps on how to do it?

I have tried to look at the traces folder file but does not have the logfiles for my error.

For your information, everytime i try printing the Ledger Transaction List report for huge amount data after 1 minutes and 38 seconds it will prompt the error 'An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host'.

But if less than 1 minutes and 38 seconds it can print successfully without any issue, i have tried using batch processing and change the print destination but still facing the same error.

Are there any solutions for this error?

    Thanks.

    Regards,

    Afieq

    RE: SSRS Report Timeout

    Hello Afieq,

Thanks for reaching out to Dynamics Community.

Please can you share more details around the issue.

    1. Are you getting sql time out error in Dynamics 365.

    2. Have you tried running the same report on reporting server.

    3. The time out will occur if you huge amount of data to be fetched from servers.

    4. The best option to check is grab SSRS traces from : \Program Files\Microsoft Sql Server\MSRSx. <Instance>\Reporting Services\LogFiles

This will give you some information on why the report failed.

    Regards,

    Arshad
