Getting start with Dynamics

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi,

I'd like to study dynamics to do financial reporting. Where can I find a demo version of dynamics server to install?

Is AX the best solution to do financial reporting for a banking group???

    Hi Marcus,

You can leverage the trial provided by Microsoft to explore Dynamics 365. To start the free trial, simply follow the link https://trials.dynamics.com and choose an "Finance and Operations" to explore, provide your work email and get started.

You can also sign up for preview subscription, please follow steps here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/unified-operations/dev-itpro/dev-tools/sign-up-preview-subscription?toc=/fin-and-ops/toc.json

For financial reporting in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, you can start from: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/unified-operations/financials/general-ledger/financial-reporting-getting-started

    Best Regards,

    Blue Wang

We have a major bank as a  client that uses Ax for financial reporting. However, there are many vertical reports e.g for Basel ll or FATCA compliance that need a specialist solution.

See some of these posts for example for background information http://www.synergy-software.com/blog/?s=Basel.

There are likely to be regional central bank variations on the risk calculation engine, and the reporting  formats/ frequency.

Which version of Dynamics AX are you interested in? Note that the latest version is called Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations and it has its own forum at Dynamics Community.
