Ability to Share Opportunities Automatically?

(0) ShareShare

Hello,

INFORMATION

For most of our security roles, we restrict to user-owned security.

However, on opportunities, we have a related table/entity to assign team members to the opportunity.

Assigning users to the team members grid on the opportunity does not give visibility to the opportunity because they do not own the opportunity.

I cannot achieve this through access teams as the users needing visibility to opportunities dynamically change based on the opportunity.

NEED

  • If a user is listed in the sub-grid on the opportunity they need visibility to the opportunity.
    • Ideally, this is achieved by a Flow that gives them Share visiblity to read/write.
    • I cannot use a plug-in.
    • I'm open to programmatically, but hoping someone has some guidance.

Thank you in advance for any guidance.

    Hi,

Yes. you can share records using Unbound Actions in Power Automate:

For more details, you can refer following link:

    @Leah Ju

That was very helpful. Thank you. I am able to achieve what I need with the links you have provided.

I wonder, do you know if it can also be conditionally triggered or easily contain a condition or filter based on the user's security role?

If possible any additional insights here would be appreciated.

    Hi partner,

Currently there is no action that gets the security roles of a user through the flow.

but you can get the Dynamics CRM User’s security role using JavaScript:

(+) Get User Security Role Name from context in Dynamics 365 CE - Microsoft Dynamics CRM Community

Retrieve the List of Security Roles Assigned for a Logged-In Dynamics 365 User (c-sharpcorner.com)
