Procedure to upgrade Navision 2018 CU2 to CU3

Dear experts, please bear with me because I'm not a developer but more of a system administrator. I wish to upgrade my Nav 2018 CU2 to CU3. I've followed the procedures outline in https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4072484/how-to-install-a-microsoft-dynamics-nav-2018-cumulative-update I do have objects that are modified. I'm being led to import the objects into a "worksheet". I've accepted the default selection (either to replace or merge) and synchronize the database. This error pops out. "type conversion is not possible because 1 of the operators contains an invalid type interger := code" May I know how to continue from there? Is upgrading from Cu2 to Cu3 a straight forward process or is there programming involved? I've also found this link. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics-nav/upgrading-to-microsoft-dynamics-nav Is there a need to convert anything?

I would recommend to be in touch with your CSP Partner or reseller to perform this action.

Deploying a Cumulative Update requires partner expertise since it needs to cope with platform and application side deployment.

In your case, partner that implemented this solution should review the process and decide how to perform the action.

From a standpoint perspective moving from CU 2 to CU 3 might not give the added value to move from a higher (latest) build.

Currently we are in the process of releasing officially CU 30.

The best suggestion here is to deploy the latest and greatest CU to make your environment more robust and enhanced.

This should be done under the surveillance of your partner and handled as a business task.

Hi Duilio, I can engage my partner to help me with the upgrade but if this is a rather straight forward process I don't mind trying them in a testing environment. Will there be coding involved in any of the upgrade process?

Yes they are. You have to merge the standard and custom code from CUx to CUx+y and also deploy platform side. Better if you be assisted by a partner in this or you risk to waste time or to achieve unexpected results.

You nee to go ahead with the merging FROM the latest CU to your Customers Database  to have the latest hotfixes.
