Revenue estimation based on project budget (not forecast)

Hi,

I am seeking help with an issue. I have an investment project where I have enabled budgeting for control. When I am running estimates, my cost to amount is getting 2 times if I run estimation 2 times, 3 times if I run it 3 times and 4 times and so on so forth. This is beyond my understanding.

Please see the details below for project approved budget:

I have posted transactions like the following: Hour total = $900 and Item for $5000. So % completion = 98.33%

I have no forecast setup and my budget is tied to original forecast which I would like to copy for the forecast

It says 8% completed which is not correct
Why, because it is changing this amount every time I run and has reached to 11100 and 55000

I am not sure why this cost to complete is getting increased, any help?

Cost template setup is like this

    Hi Kumar,

It has been several years ago for me using the estimates. Currently, I don't have an environment to check certain topics. I do see that you filled the column Copy from model. Is it possible to leave this field empty? This might copy the original budget again and effectively append it to the forecast model.

Hi Kumar you need to understand this you can post estimate by comparing it with the Forecast model.
If you don't want to use that way the simple way is use the manual method is cost template in that case you have to put the % of complete manually.
That's all, otherwise any cost that will not be part of forecast will not be treated to calculate the estimation.

I think I was able to find out the reason. Actually, it copies the original budget to forecast model each time and was increasing the amount to complete. Although, I would like to know if there is a way to stop original budget to be copies to forecast each time.
