Is it possible to have different number series for employees and contractors?

Is it possible to have different number series for employees and contractors?     Ex. An employee can have number series starting 600001  and for Contractors, the number series can be 9000001....

    Hi,

    Unfortunately no.

    Personnel number follows the same sequence between employees and contractors.

    Work around (not the best but better than nothing) - You can use Employment ID as another sequence and track it along with a combination of Employment type. The sequence would still be continuous when you hire employees and contractors alike.

    Ideal solution would be to have a custom field and define a number sequence to it.

    I have submitted an idea for this on the idea portal. Please vote and share this idea to have it put on the product roadmap.
