Changing an entity to a new accounting structure when already active against another

Hi All,

We would like to move an existing entity over from one accounting structure to another. The entity has been active. Has anyone done this previously, are there any lookouts or issues we may encounter?

    Hi Tara,

    I have experienced it twice and the only issue that we encountered was when a production/inventory worker complained that he could not post his inventory journal anymore. He must have opened the journal at the very same time the change in account structures was implemented. As a result, he had to delete his journal and re-enter his Journal lines. To avoid such issues in the future we decided to implement such changes during the weekend when nobody uses the system.

    Hi,

    In my opinion, it is better to close all the pending entries and then change the structure. Because if there are some pending entries in the journal or in budgets it may be linled to existing structure so you may not be able to post.
