Solution can't load because said too big

Posted on by 30

Hi everyone,

I try using XRMToolBox and Ribbon Workbench, however the tool prevents me from loading the solution because said too large. I ought to reduce the size by suppressing entities.

But the solution is quite small, it seems that this is the web resource causing the problem, which I need thereafter when creating a new button.

Have you ever had the same issue ? and how did you overcome it ?

Thank you,

    Hi Jonathan,

You can find the Solutions history entry in Settings > Customizations.

    Thank you!

    HI,

I had the same issue in my recent project. I had to actually remove all comonents from the solution except entity on which you want to add button or modify ribbons.

Also make sure you only add metadata when selecting components of that entity and do not include forms, fields and other components .

    Hello Jonathan,

The "solution too large" error message can be generic and can hide the real error.

Can you try to collect some traces? If you check Solutions History, can you see the real error?

    Thank you!
