You can use data management for importing opening balances .There are lot of Out of the box entities present which can be used to import data . Refer below post where some entities are suggested to import data.

    Hi Sukrut,

Thanks for the reply. wanted to know if there is any particular steps that needs to be followed during this process... like first create a dummy account and then do balancing etc...i am new to this data migration thing... any help is appreciated.

    Hi pothapu,

What do you mean with a dummy account here? Do you mean an account to use as offset for the opening balances?

Usually, I did first import all open transactions from vendors, customers, etc and used an "conversion balance" account as offset. On the opening balance with GL details, instead of using the customer, vendor accounts and other subledger accounts, the conversion balance was used. This balance account should then be zero is everything was posted correctly.

    Hello pothapu,

It seems that you are looking for a detailed step by step guide to migrate your data.

Providing such a detailed guide is not straightforward because it depends on a lot of things; among others your country/region (because of taxes/tax migration), the modules / functionalities that you use (for transferring customer/vendor/project...) data, etc.

Can you possibly provide more information and what do you expect here exactly?

    Many thanks and best regards,

    Ludwig
