Removing access to create button from Purchase Order Form

I would like to know how to remove access to the create button so there can be a privilege set up and assigned to user/group.  Currently, I have tried going through Security Configuration and drilling down to the PurchTable modifiying 'Display Menu Items' and deny on the create.  Also tried going into the Maintain Purchase Order Details  - Display menu items - Purch Table there and did the same thing.  Once completed, assigned the new role to the individual but it still allowed it to click on the new button on the purchase order form.

    Hi,

Could you please try below steps -
    1. Verify Security Role Configuration:
      • Ensure that the security role you created has the correct privileges set. Sometimes, changes might not take effect immediately or might require additional configuration.
    2. Check Display Menu Items:
      • Double-check the settings for the 'Display Menu Items' in both PurchTable and Maintain Purchase Order Details. Ensure that the 'Create' option is set to Deny for the specific role.
    3. Assign Privileges:
      • Make sure the new role with restricted access is correctly assigned to the user or group. Verify that the role assignment is active and correctly configured.
    4. Clear Cache and Refresh:
      • Clear the cache and refresh the browser or application. Sometimes, changes in security settings might not reflect immediately due to cached data
    5. Test with Different Users:
      • Test the configuration with different users to ensure that the restriction is applied correctly. Sometimes, user-specific settings might override role-based settings.

    Hi,

Just in case you dont solve the issue. Have you tried just not displaying it? Thats how we do it in certain cases. I admit that its not clean, I would expect that it might be possible with a keyboard shortcut. Just because you dont see it, doesnt mean the permission is gone...

Nevertheless, I would say it works and its quite easy. The steps are the following:

    1.  Personalize the purchase order list page AND the details page in such a way that the NEW button is not visible
    2.  Save both views under a new name
    3.  Publish the view for all relevant roles as the standard view
    4.  Delete all personalized views of the users for the purchase order list page and details page. They can still create their own views, however, it will be based on their standard view, which is your published view.
If they really wanna mess up, they could switch to the MS standard view and then personalize the form thats true...but boy would I love to have users with such knowledge.

    Kind regards, Adis

Thanks everyone who has responded.  We did try Abhilash's suggestion and that did not seem to work.  We had 90% of that already in place thinking logically the deny would take care of it.  I have since gone in and added in Layan's suggestion and waiting for the individual testing it to respond and let me know the results.  Once I find out how that goes, we can try your suggestion and I can then update the post.  Please stay tuned and thanks everyone for offering up suggestions.

    Hi,

Instead of using the Maiintain duty/privilege and adjust this, you can better focus on using the Inquire into/View duty or privilege for the purchase orders.
Note that the deny option is available, but should be used as an exception when other security options are not sufficient or when you want to enforce Segregation of Duties within the security roles.

    Hi @RI-04041350-0,

You mentioned you will come back to us after trying the solution. Did it work? Or did you try other suggestions?

I have not heard back from the user.  It may be a good idea to just close this question for now.
    Thank you

    Hi,

Do you mean since you didn't hear back from the user that removing the duty from the role worked?

If yes, then please don't forget to verify the answers that helped.
