QR-code, holograms moving etc

Hi

I am using  Trial License for HoloLens 2 and have following questions/issues:

- Can one in any way get the program to force the operator to do the right thing before the operator can press the "next" button? Or is there another program for this?
Guides are more for instructions for learning, right? and cannot detect if the operator has mounted a component correct or not?

- I can not get animation on all holograms. Can only get it on arrow + circle.

- In operator mode, the eye is in the way when you have the dashed line to the first instruction in the step. Sometimes the operator happens to press on the eye when looking at a hologram nearby. I can not move the eye either..

- I have problem with the holograms moving 1-2 cm when re-scanning the QR code

- The QR code moves several times and can also be much larger

- When I start Guides in the Hololens, there can sometimes be about 10 Guides-windows (before entering the guides themselves) that I have to close.

Hope anyone can help me with these issues

Kindly

Martina

Hi Martina, we are building ways to automatically validate work and you can expect to see more support for these scenarios in future releases.

    >> I can not get animation on all holograms. Can only get it on arrow + circle.

Not all holograms in the 3D Toolkit are animated. However, we are interested in learning which ones you want animated (and whether you want new holograms added). To get your ideas in front of our designers, go to https://aka.ms/GuidesIdeas. You can animate custom 3d models in FBX format and add them to your guide.

    >> In operator mode, the eye is in the way when you have the dashed line to the first instruction in the step. Sometimes the operator happens to press on the eye when looking at a hologram nearby. I can not move the eye either..

The visibility eye is intentionally placed there as a means for the operator to easily toggle the holograms on and off. We are looking at ways to improve the experience so consider submitting screenshots if the eye is not behaving as expected. I have posted instructions for submitting below.

This sounds like an issue we should investigate. Can you send us a repro using the Feedback Hub tool?

    1. Open Feedback Hub on the HoloLens
    2. Select Report a Problem from the home page
    3. Page 1: Enter a short title, e.g., “Guides QR code moving”
    4. Page 2: Select Dynamics 365 Guides as the application
    5. Page 3: Select New Feedback
    6. Page 4:
      1. Select Loss of Productivity or whatever category you feel best applies
      2. Tap the button to Recreate my problem.
      3. Ensure Include data about Dynamics 365 Guides is checked
      4. Start recording and reproduce the issue.
    7. Submit

Your report will get routed to us automatically. Feel free to submit feedback as often as you need because it helps our team continuously improve the product. Note: you can use the Feedback Hub tool on both HoloLens and PC app, same instructions.

    >> When I start Guides in the Hololens, there can sometimes be about 10 Guides-windows (before entering the guides themselves) that I have to close.

Each time you launch Guides from the home menu, it puts a new “3D shortcut” in the world. Try launching from one of the existing 3D shortcuts instead. Alternately, embed a deep link in a QR code you can scan from the shell. This will open the guide and anchor without needing any of the menus. See this posting for help on creating your QR code: https://community.dynamics.com/365/guides/f/dynamics-365-guides-forum/397923/use-qr-codes-to-select-the-right-training

Thank you for your feedback Martina – please keep it coming!

Thank you so much for the answers on all questions.

I will try to send you a repro about the QR-code. Maybe i have put it on a not so good place? Could it depend on that?

    Kindly

    Martina

    Hi again

Could you please explain why the holograms moves a few cm in one or the other direction, even though the qr code is scanned in the exact same place each time?

    regards

    Martina
