Voice of the customer How to map data to contacts / Accounts

I have a case that I have a Voice of the Customer Survey- I want the survey to check if Contact /Account "ABC" exists if not create it- is there a way to do that easily?

or any clever way at all of automating this lookup sort to speak.

I know the accounts/ contacts can be created with the data provided but how can I check if they are unique and not create them if that's the case.
