Dear All,
Could someone help me with how to update the kernel version to match with the application version?
I used the standard virtual machine CU9 and restore my company database into this machine. After i had updated SQLsystemvariance from 7 to 8.
I can start the service and use this machine. however, i checked the kernel version and applicaiton version is different. So i cannot add any customization on that.
Not sure which combinations are supported, but I think your kernel version should be same or higher than the application version.
Even better if you can upgrade the entire system to CU13.
Hi Luis,
The difference in Kernel and Application is normal. The kernel is the engine to run an application. The client and server components should have the same kernel version.
As there were many product updates and hotfixes, the version of the application is independent of the kernel version. The only thing in common is the first part (6.3) which indicates that it is AX 2012 R3.
Like you experienced, only the latest supported kernel is available for download.
Hi Nikolaos,
It looks like the link for CU12 is disabled and i cannot download this package for reinstall.
Thank and regards,
Luis.
You need to download the update and install it. The kernel version of your screenshot shows the client's kernel version, but remember that you need to update all binary components.
You can download AX2012 here: cloudblogs.microsoft.com/.../
and here: community.dynamics.com/.../overview-of-microsoft-dynamics-ax-build-numbers
It's possible that the unsupported older CU versions are not available anymore.
