When to use Atttibute option of Node Type in XMLPORT

I am a fresh learner of Navision. Recently I am in the chapter of XMLPORT. while studying, I found out that there are two options in Node Type but couldnt find when to use the option Attribute.

Can Anyone explain about attribute?
