Inventory Availability Affected by Closed/Archived Sales Orders

Hello. I have several instances where very old, closed and/or delted sales orders are affecting my inventory availability. The product has sufficient on-hand quantity, but when I try to include it on a sales order, I get an alert saying that inventory availability in insufficient. I went to the inventory item card, and checked open sale orders and it shows a very old sales order, that does not even show up when I go to the Sale Order History file.

Any suggestions?

So, if you have open sales order, why can't you delete that? Search in the open sales orders.

    Hi Eddie,

Check if you are reserved inventory against those old orders. If yes then unreserved the same and you can use that inventory for other sales orders to ship

Yeah. That would be the obvious. The thing is these orders don't show up anywhere, dead or alive. They're not in the open orders and they're not in the sales order history file. Basically these are orphaned sales lines... very old. From when we first implemented NAV back in 2012.

Apparently it had not been an issue until now, because we always had high inventory levels of those items, so there wasn't a problem when you tried to invoice. Now that those items are at very low inventory levels, it's affecting our ability to invoice whats remaining.

    Any ideas?

How can I check that in NAV 2009 R2 classic client?

Amol, I believe that in order for me to check inventory reservations, I need to go to the specific sales order. The thing is that these orders are not in the open orders. These are basically orphaned sales lines form deleted and/or completely shipped orders.  Any other suggestions?

Open the Sales Line table from development environment and filter for those sales lines and delete those orphaned sales lines from there or you could add a report to find all the sales lines where there is no associated sales header and if you find those you can add the code in the report to delete those lines.
