General Ledger Excel Add in issues

We are trying to test the new functionality in D365 to upload journals via Excel.  When using this in General Ledger journals, the publish button regularly results in the following messages and then the contents in the Excel file are wiped out and not uploaded to D365.  I cannot work out why sometimes this happens and other times, the updates or new file successfully updates the journal in D365.  It is incredibly frustrating not being able to replicate consistently why sometimes it works and other times it does not!

    Hi jerhsysacct,

It seems that you have customized the excel file with adding some fields.

Please check the following post on how to import journal via Excel add-inn:

Yes we have added the Account field so we can post to our financial dimensions.  This does not really explain the error messages though.

    Hi jerhsysacct,

Can you provide more information about the fields that you have added og error message that you got.

The provided post shows how to post against account with financial dimensions:

    Hi Alireza

Yes we have added the Account field to allow us to post to our financial dimensions as described in the article you sent for example "79220-DE001-CC001----".  The order we are using is as specified by the ledger dimension format.  The error message I screenshot in my first post don't appear to relate to the setup we have performed and there is no mention in my messages that "the number of dimensions specified is different from the number setup in the active format for the data entities" as described in your post.  Any other suggestions welcome.

    thanks Joe

Can you please check the message center to check which field that the system has issues with.

Also you may fill the newly added field from 365 and export first, so you will understand how to fill the fields.

    Thanks

It would appear the message stating

    pastedimage1661522557900v1.png

means that there is an underlying error.  If clicking No after the above message, you have the opportunity to review the message centre actual error details.  This shed light on my actual issue which was an incorrect dimension value.

    thanks

    Joe
