Different Application version and Kernel Version

Hi All!

Tell me please, if it is a normal that I have Kernel Version 5.0.593.0 and Application Version 5.0.1500.4570. Parter is told us that this is a normal, but I am pretty not sure.

If I good understand  Kernel is the component executing the X++ Application code. Application is the version of the  X++ Application code, Forms, Reports and so on in AOT.

So i my opinion this is nor correct. They should be equals.

    It isn't normal and it is dangerous. Your application is for AX 2009 SP1 RU7, but your binaries are just AX 2009 RTM (even without SP1!).

    You miss kernel updates since 2008 (!).

    Sometimes new application versions also depend on new methods added to kernel, therefore using an old kernel may cause compilation to fail.

    There was a change in the SP1 kernel which also affected how some standard calls on some reports. The call was not backwards compatible. SP1 application and SP1 kernel are in this case really depending on each other.
