In the event log, we have an error which says: The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
{FDC3723D-1588-4BA3-92D4-42C430735D7D}
 and APPID
{83B33982-693D-4824-B42E-7196AE61BB05}
 to the user NT SERVICE\SQLSERVERAGENT SID (S-1-5-80-344959196-2060754871-2302487193-2804545603-1466107430) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Unavailable SID (Unavailable). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.

How to fix it? Thank you!

    I think we'll have a better chance of helping if you can provide more details around when this error occurs (what area of NAV, what the user is doing when the user comes up; does it crash NAV, or allow it to continue? is it an ISV product, an add-in?).

    Just generally reading the error message, the issue appears to be insufficient permissions assigned to the NT SERVICE\SQLSERVERAGENT user, and it suggests that you can modify the permissions from the "Component Services" Administrative Tool.

    Maybe this points you in the right direction to fix the error, otherwise, we'll need more information / context around this error.

    I hope this helps. If my response has answered your question, please verify by clicking Yes next to "Did this answer your question?"

    experts, how to get rid of this error?  The users' screen were frozen first and then shuts the NAV server down and it keeps on happening every few minutes.

    Hi Snoopy,

    You might need to provide permission using the below instruction.

    1. Click Start -> Run -> Type -> dcomcnfg, expand Component Services -> Computers -> My Computer -> DCOM Config.

    2. Click View -> Detail -> Now you will get Application Name and Application ID in right side.

    3. Scroll down and find the application ID {83B33982-693D-4824-B42E-7196AE61BB05} -> Right Click -> Properties and select the Security tab.

    3. Click Customize under "Launch & Activation Permission" -> click Edit -> Add in the account NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM and set local launch and local activation.

    4. Restart the application Service linked to this Application ID or restart the server and monitor

    Experts, please advise how to add the the NT SERVICE\SQLSERVERAGENT, It cannot be added and there is nowhere to be seen in the  DCOM Config.

    The system keeps on crashing. Please advise! Thank you!
